Its Official

We have moved. Our new blog is nicandmeagan.blogspot.com. There you will find a very lengthy and probably boring Christmas post with only one picture. (I had a lot to say and by the time I was done I had lost the motivation to get more pictures on there). They post will improve. In the meantime…enjoy…

Give In I May

I am this close to giving in and using our blogger account instead of msn spaces. Why? Well thank you for asking…here are my complaints/concerns. 1. MSN spaces has made some big changes the last few weeks and it is suddenly impossible to upload pictures without resizing them first. Unless you want to look squishy and fat or long and skinny. 2. Everyone who is anyone apparently uses blogger and I want to be someone. Plus it would be easier for people (our 2 loyals readers) to make comments on our blog. 3. Uploading video would be easier.  And finally 4. I would be less disgruntled about not having above said features in my life. With that said, you may be asking, "Why are you not firing up your blogger account right this very minute." Thank you for your concern, but it isn’t that easy. We have had our MSN account for almost 5 years. All of our pictures are nicely tucked away in albums, although I know no one actually goes back to look at them. It just makes me feel good knowing they are there for friends and family to view if they feel the need. Narcissistic of me? Perhaps, but I hold my ground. Also there are some cool features on spaces that I’m not sure blogger offers (i.e. weather update anyone?)  So now you may be saying, "Okay, why don’t you just start using your blogger account, email all your friends/family to inform them of the change, and put a nice little link to your old blog on the sidebar of your new blog. That way all when one of your loved ones says to themselves, ‘Wow…I really want to re-live Nic and Meagan’s trip to beach in 2004’ then they indeed can." To that, my friend, I would say bravo. I just may do that exact thing. Then again I may not. So stay tune loyal blog readers…all 2-4 of you. Changes may be in the works.

Give Thanks

This post has been in the works for about a week due to some issues with getting our pictures up. We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. This year marked our 5th (well 4 1/2, but thats another story) and possibly final (but hopefully not) Thanksgiving at my Aunt Ann and Uncle Randy’s house in Carmel, NY.  As with years past, no expense was spared at making a wonderful feast! My cousin Todd and his wife Ashley and their 3 awesome boys were there and we had a fun filled weekend involving food, fondue, the Bronx Zoo, food, wii, Settlers, food, and a movie. Thats right. Nic and I went to a movie. We saw Australia and I thought it was very good. (Thanks again Ann and Randy for keeping an ear out for Mason!) As usual it was an awesome weekend. Going up to visit Ann and Randy is going to be one of the things we miss the most about living out here. We always leave refreshed, well fed, and happy. Thanks again guys for making the last 5 Thanksgiving holidays so great!

(I love this picture of you Ann!)

Fall Leaves…in both senses of the word.

Although not officially, fall is over here in PA. All the leaves are gone and you can now see all the buildings that were once hidden by green luciousness. Everything is now…twiggy…and brown. Oh well. Hopefully it will snow soon and then it will be twiggy, brown, and white. Which, in case you weren’t aware, is much better than just twiggy and brown.

Now that I have reached my quota for using the word "twiggy" (and "luciousness" for that matter) here are some pictures I took of Mason before all the leaves went away.

A Mover and a Shaker

Mason is on the move. It started with a very graceful sort of face and feet tripod move, and now he is officially army crawling his way all through the house. I’ll put some video on soon, but for now…

He has a cold…hence the glistening under his nose.

Other stats:
-Mase now has 6 teeth. 4 on top. 2 on the bottom.
-He now says mumumum and dadeee dadeee dadeee.
-He still hates to get dressed.
-He still loves to jump.
-He can clap and give 5.
-He squeals in delight when his daddy comes home. I mean really…it just might be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Cuter than baby pandas. Yes. That cute.

(More pictures in the album on the side. Most of them involve food…not sure why. Maybe because thats when he is holding still enough for me to take a picture.)

Happy All Saint’s Day!

We had a fun halloween week!

We started the week with a little pumpkin carving.

At first Mason wasn’t sure about the pumpkin guts…

But he warmed up to it…

We tried to fashion our pumpkin in the likeness of Mason…big eyes and 2.5 teeth.

Mason was a giraffe.

Strikingly similar…

Nic and I are on the activities committee in our ward so we spent the evening helping with the trunk-or-treat. We had a bon-fire and played games…it was a good time.

For all those who wish to see way more pictures than anyone should ever take (ie grandparents) please see the album on the side. (I have a really hard time deciding what pictures to post…so I post them all. I know that probably only grandparents will appreciate that.)

So much to blog…so little desire

Nic and I (well…mostly I) have had a busy last few weeks and for some reason (possibly the cold that is plaguing our house) I have little to no desire to blog about them. But alas I am the mercy of our loyal readers (namely Shay) to get some pictures up. So here it is. Nic had vacation the end of September and we took full advantage by driving up north for some leaf-peeping. Our vacation went as follows. Reading to Lake Placid. Lake Placid to Montreal. Montreal to Stowe, VT. Stowe to Carmel, NY. Carmel to Reading. All in 5 days. We had a really great time and got to see some beautiful areas of the Northeast. Please view the "Northeast" album on the side for more.

Immediately after our vacation (we slept at home for one night) we headed to Philly and caught a plane to Idaho for Nic’s sister Jorden’s wedding. It was beautiful and we loved getting to see the whole fam. Nic only stayed in Idaho for about 36 hours before he flew (first class via frequent flyer miles) home. Mason and I stayed for an additional 10 days. We got to hang out with all the grandparents and enjoyed spending time with them! Shay came up from Phoenix for conference weekend and, along with Bran, Whitney and baby Quinton, we headed up to my dad’s cabin. We had a really great time and can’t wait to be closer so we can spend more time there!  (photos from our trip home are in the "Idaho in September" album).

Now we are home in Reading and enjoying our last East coast fall. Thanks to everyone for making our trip home so much fun. We miss you all already!

P.S. There are some extra pictures of Mason in the "Extra Pictures of Mason" album on the side. So many pictures I know. I guess thats what I get for not posting for a month.

Sippy Cup

The following episode was funny enough that it prompted me to finally bust out the video cables. To dispell any child abuse rumors that may come from this post, Nic was trying to see if the water would come out without Mason sucking (which is does because I took the sippy cup’s valve out). The results were as follows…

For some reason the quality isn’t that great and its too late at night for me to figure out why. So if you want to see a much clearer video click on this link:

er…tag?

So I’m new at this whole "tag" thing…but since I don’t have a whole lot to blog about lately I guess I’ll give it a try. Besides…its about Nic so that should be fun.

1. What is his name? ahem. Dr. Nicholas Stephen Pierson. He wishes he could have the III to that because he thinks it would sound very distinguished.
2. Who eats more? This is somewhat of an issue in our home. You see, I can eat just as much as Nic (for the most part…the guy can down a whole pizza in one sitting. The thought of which makes me sick). However, Nic feels strongly, and I quote, that he "requires more". So no matter how much food I eat…he feels the need to eat just a little bit more. A very healthy eating pattern. So to answer the question…we eat about the same with a few exceptions.
3. Who said "I love you" first? I know that Nic did…but I can’t remember when or how or any of the details. Is that sad?
4. Who is taller? Nic. By a foot.
5. Who is smarter? I’d like to think we are both pretty smart, but Nic is probably smarter. Even though he can’t spell. (Sometimes he spells egg with one "g").
6. Who is more sensitive? I assume this is meant in the negative sense. If that is the case I think it depends on the day.
7. Who does the laundry? Nic use to do it all the time…but now I do. Although…when we didn’t have a washer and dryer in our house I was the one who hauled the laundry to the laundry mat (ewwww). We would save up our laundry for 2 weeks and then I would have to fetch a cart from our complex to haul the gigandor bag out to the car. The laundry mat holds a sense of terror for me ever since the little oriental man snuck his laundry into my running washer at the Aggie Village laundry facilities. That, however, is a story for another time my friends.
8. Who sleeps on the right side fo the bed? I do. Although every time I come back to bed, after being up with Mason, Nic is either be sprawled out over the entire bed, or has left his lower half on his side, but has his head on my pillow. When this is the case I usually just find a spot on the bed to sleep because at 4 am who cares right?
9. Who pays the bills? Nic. He is extremely organized when it comes to this.
10. Who cooks more? It used to be about 50/50 until I became a stay at home mom. Now I cook more. Nic loves to cook though so he will sometimes cook on his day off.
11. Who is more stubborn? Nic. I have no more say about this subject.
12. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? It depends on who is right (please refer to #11).
(Oh I can’t get away with that. Nic is actually very good about admiting when he is wrong. And even if he doesn’t actually ADMIT it…his actions will tell me that he knows.)
13. Who has more siblings? Nic has 5 siblings other than himself. I have two other siblings and 5 step siblings. Never a simple answer.
14. Who wears the pants in the relationship? We both have pants.
15. What do you like to do together? We do everything together. We really are best friends. Some things we like to do are hike, camp, travel and go to the beach.
16. Who eats more sweets? If anyone knows us they know the answer to this question. Me. Hands down.
17. Guilty Pleasures? His: gas station hot dogs Mine: eating straight brown sugar by the clump
18. How did you meet? This story is way too long and probably boring for anyone other than us. Lets just say we both did debate in high school (different schools) and he dated more than one person on my team. Thats how I initially met him. The "getting to know you" process started in a hotel breakfast room at a state speech tournament where we stayed up all night talking.
19. Who asked whom out first? Nic asked me out. He was very Rico Suave. He picked me up and we drove out to the lava rocks outside of Idaho Falls. We climbed around and explored and then he surprised me by pulling a bundle of wood out of his little hatch-back Honda and he made a fire. We ate s’mores and looked at the stars. Nic has always been a really good date-planner.
20. Who kissed whom first? Nic kissed me. See the above story. Unlike #3 I remember everything about our first kiss.
21. Who proposed? Nic did. We were in Logan (I was going to school at USU) and we were going to go to "down-town" Logan to walk around one evening. It was raining and we didn’t have an umbrella so we went to Wal-mart to buy one. Walking into the store was one of those pyramids of fake diamond rings and Nic joked around saying we should buy one and freak-out my room-mates with a fake engagement. So we bought one and went "down-town". After walking around a bit we ended up at some shabby little skating rink across from the tabernacle that was run by this very strange, one toothed man. To make a long story short, the rink was closed but Nic convinced the guy to let us skate around for a little bit. While we were skating (to the theme song from the cartoon "Anastasia"…the one toothed man’s idea of a "romantic" song) Nic mentioned that he still needed to "propose" to me so we would have a story to tell my roommates. So he got down on one knee, gave a brief proposal, slipped the ring on my finger, grabbed my hand and we started skating off the rink. It took me a few mintues but at some point I finally looked down at my hand only to notice that the ring on my finger was, in fact, not the ring we had purchased at Wal-mart, but rather a much more convincing diamond ring. Nic then got down on his knee again and asked me to marry him for real. In the meantime the one-toothed wonder, as I just decided I shall call him, was on the phone with someone yelling at the top of his lungs, "yEa I tell yer what. I gots sum peoples gettin’ in-gaged ri’ now!" I’m very glad he got to share in our special moment. Anyway…so thats the story in a nutshell. I really like it.
22. His best features and qualities? This is great because I don’t get a lot of opportunities to brag about him. Nic is the most loving, fun, kind hearted person I know. He is always very sensitive to my needs and always tries his hardest to make me happy. He cares about the things I care about and is always very appreciative (he thanks me every day for making the bed). He is extremely hard working…but he also knows when its time to put his work aside and spend time with his family. I have loved watching his take on the fatherly role and he does such a good job at it. Mason grins ear to ear and flails all his limbs in excitment when Nic comes home…and the picture of Nic isn’t much different when he sees Mason. I am the luckiest girl ever to have such a wonderful husband. He is sensitive, funny, loving and brilliant. I don’t know what I’d ever do without him. Oh–and he puts the seat down. Every time. So take that!

(I guess this is where I "tag" someone else. I say whoever wants to. I am all for making decisions for yourself.)
